This Sunday, May 26th, Mike Verhoef of FlyFitters will be hosting a Spey casting clinic on the Maitland River. The clinic will run from 9am - 3pm, will include lunch and with a limit of 8 participants it will allow alot of one on one casting instruction. Mike will also have all of his Glooims spey rods and SA spey lines on hand for folks to try a few casts with them.  This clinic is full but if something like this interests you Mike will be hosting another one early this fall so send him an email [email protected] to book your spot.

From super high water to low and warm water in a week, the spring of 2013 was definitely different then the rest, Mother Nature always seems to have her way with things and she always seems to know best! We had a good number of fish in the system and there are still a few in the systems making their way back to the lake. It should have been a great reproduction year with a cool spring and high water levels allowing the fish to get into their cold water tribs early. We'll see in 2-3 yrs from now what Mother N produced!
