With the recent cold weather and snow fall the rivers have started to turn to slush and form significant shore ice, looks like the season may be coming to an end. Here's hoping we get a few mild spells through out the winter months to allow us the oppertunity to swing a line and enjoy a little needed time on a river! Was very nice to find this brusier last week. He took a small unweighted fly in some slow deep water. Was using my NRX 13' 8/9 and a new Ross F1 loaded with one of the new SA intermediate Skagit Extreme heads in 600 grn. I really like this set up for fishing deep fast flows and fighting BIG steelhead, just wish that happened more often LOL! A HUGE thanks to Rick Kustich for taking this photo! |
