The end of the spring season is near when the big boys show up! Have to respect these fella's for hanging around till the bitter end to protect their future generations!
We have had a fantastic spring steelhead season here in Ontario! A few late drop backs still around but water temps are in the high 60's so its pretty much over now! Time to patiently wait for the cool temps of the fall to arrive!
The weather has really cooperated for this spring season! It has allowed for some great early season swinging opportunities and now it is shaping things up very nicely for the opener in a couple weeks!
Well that was a good cold winter with some decent amount of snow fall! Although it went away a little early it now looks like we should still be in ok shape for the opener on the fourth Sat of April. We do have some good swinging opportunities!
The weather allowed us one last "kick at the can" along Ontario"s west coast! But looks like that will be it for the season! I just hope now that 2018 treats us as well as 2017 did!! Tight lines and many tugs to all in the New Year!
Looking like the 2017 season may be coming to an abrupt end with the current ice and slush in the rivers along with the forecast for cold temps and more snow! We did manage to get out this past weekend and found a few in the cold and wind!
