Well that was a good cold winter with some decent amount of snow fall! Although it went away a little early it now looks like we should still be in ok shape for the opener on the fourth Sat of April. We do have some good swinging opportunities!
The weather allowed us one last "kick at the can" along Ontario"s west coast! But looks like that will be it for the season! I just hope now that 2018 treats us as well as 2017 did!! Tight lines and many tugs to all in the New Year!
Looking like the 2017 season may be coming to an abrupt end with the current ice and slush in the rivers along with the forecast for cold temps and more snow! We did manage to get out this past weekend and found a few in the cold and wind!
It's time! Had to take advantage of the nice weather the other day and get out "for a swing", it was fantastic to "feel the tug" of this true Maitland River gem!!
Its the end of Feb and rivers are completely open every where here in SW Ontario with no snow to be found any where! One would think it will be a very early spring! I had to take advantage of the nice weather this past week and swing a fly, no "tugs"
The Fall of 2016 was a complete "bust" ! A crazy year of no water which in return gave very low river levels and very few fish!
